Yes, I said it, being broke is a choice. I’m not the first one to state this, actually I recently read Larry Wingets book “Your broke because you want to be”. I’m not broke no, but I was at one point. Of course I didn’t really want to be broke, but my actions told a different story. Just as the “law of attraction” states, whatever we think about, comes about. I focused on being broke, guess what, that’s exactly what I got. I was broke because I wanted to be.
What caused me to think about this was a employee of mine. This guy is young, twenty one, great attitude and usually has a smile on his face. This guy, no matter how much money he makes, is always broke. He always talks about how poor he is and how he will never have any money.
This reminded me, of the mind set that I had when I was his age.
He did something that I never did, he took that programming to another level. What he did was tattoo his destiny on his body, and not a small mark, it is about eighteen inches. “Cashed Out” is what the tattoo stated, kind of like “Born to Loose”.
My advise to this kid was to make an addition to it, something like “Never Cashed Out”. I told him that if he made that change, his life would change. I truly believe that, I never went to that extreme. I have been broke, and I was that way because I wanted to be.
